He received his education in the Morgan County School System and graduated from Pearl High School in 1966. He joined and served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was in the Artillery Unit after basic training and later joined the 101st and 182nd Air Borne. His rank was SPC 4. He was employed by the United States Postal Service in Atlanta for 35 years and retired in 2004. He loved spending time fishing in his boat on Lake Oconee.
Mr. Johnson leaves to cherish his memory a son Daniel Johnson, a daughter Shanta Johnson Holiday; five brothers Johnny (Lillie) Johnson, James Johnson, Willie (Mary) Johnson, Anderson (Patricia) Johnson and Stacy (Yolanda) Johnson; an aunt Geneva Hughley; two uncles Howard Harris Jr. and Robert Griffin, 10 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
