Lillian Alvere Bowen, 81, of Southington, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at St. Joseph Health Center ICU. She was born May 9, 1933, in Clintonville, Pa., the daughter of Elmer E. and Rachel Pearl Surrena Miller Sr. In 1948, she married Robert D. Bowen, with whom she spent 51 wonderful years before his passing in 1999. Lillian leaves behind her son, Terry (Judy) Bowen, and daughter, Michelle (Roy) Savanyu-Burns, both of Champion. Also surviving her are five granddaughters, Julie Gibbs, Mary Lou Bowen, Jolene Geunther, Laura Bowen and Amanda Cole; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Irene Paden of Franklin, Pa.; and her beloved cat, Baby; as well as a close friend, Tom Savanyu.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Dewayne Bowen; son, Robert "Bobby" Bowen, who died at a young age; three brothers, Edward N. Miller, Elmer E. Miller Jr. and Andrew P. Miller; and three sisters, Mary R. Roemer, Violet Ushoff and Eltha A. Miller.
In accordance with her wishes, Lillian was cremated and no services were held.
Arrangements were entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Service.
