Mrs. Walter died Tuesday in Richland Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include three sons, Huey Walter of Vicksburg, Miss., Duey Walter, of Natchez, Miss., Douglas Sheppard, of Delhi; two daughters, Lois Allen, Delhi, Dorothy Hartzog, Vicksburg; four stepdaughters, Flora Boyd, Delhi, Edna Jenkins of Carthage, Miss., Willie Ruth Edmondson, Oak Grove, Irma Barlow, Pearl, Miss.; two stepsons, Otis Walter of Smirna, Ga., Hinton Walter of Baltimore, Md.; four brothers, Henry Newton, Ray Newton, Pete Newton and Billy Newton, all of Delhi; five sisters, Polly Dearman and Ella Edwards, both of Delhi, Estelle Upton of Byram, Miss., Velma Dangerfield of Kentucky, and Gloria Colvin of Monroe; 41 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
