Accident Claims Butt Man's Life

Orie L. Burk, 55, was injured fatally while at work Tuesday morning in the Mountain Con Mine. He died when struck by a fall of ground in an intermediate drift on the 4,500-foot level at about 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Burk, born July 12, 1902, in Salmon, Idaho, had lived in Butte the past 22 years. The family home is at 738 S. Main St. He had been employed continuously by The Anaconda Company during his entire residence here. He was a member of the Butte Miners Union.

He and the former Madge Jaggers were married in Salmon in October, 1936. Surviving relatives besides his wife include brother-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Naegle of Caldwell, Idaho, Mrs. Nettie Porter of Los Angeles and Mrs. Veneus Downing of Clarkston, Wash.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Burl Burk of Butte, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Burk of Cloverdale, Ore., Oscar Burke of Los Angeles, and Vern Burk in Oregon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Jaggers of Oakland, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Warren Nisson of Picabo, Idaho; Mrs. Myrtle Lingle of Stockton, Calif.; Ralph Jaggers of Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Blanche Ellis of Black-Tool, Idaho, and Mrs. Rachael Hill of Butte. There also are numerous nephews and nieces.

The body is at the Sherman and Reed Mortuary, where time and place of funeral will be announced.
