Patricia A. (Pfeil) Gould, of Ridgefield, beloved wife of the late Francis J. Gould, Jr. (deceased January 5, 2012) passed away at Norwalk Hospital on Thursday morning, August 2, 2012.
Patricia was born in Elizabeth, NJ on November 1, 1932, daughter of Ralph and Sally Pfeil. Upon her graduation from high school, Patricia joined Union Carbide Corporation where she remained until her retirement. In 1966, she married Frank Gould and they resided in New Jersey for many years before moving to Ridgefield, CT in 1981.
She is survived by two step-sons, Michael Gould of Richmond, VA and Marc Gould of Ridgefield; a step-daughter. Donna Gould of South River, NJ; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Ralph Pfeil, Jr. of Chenango Forks, NY; her sister, Mary Therese Pfeil of Elizabeth, NJ; her sister, Gerry Lee of Springfield, VA; her sister, Joan Dunn of Elizabeth, NJ; and her sister. Sally Hughes of Berkeley Heights, NJ.
Pat was devoted to her family and friends and particularly enjoyed opening her home for any and all occasions, leaving everyone with cherished memories of her gracious hospitality.
Another long-standing passion of her life was a deep devotion to her beloved dogs. She and Frank nurtured many dogs over the years, now leaving their faithful companions, a cocker spaniel named Charlie, and a Scottish terrier named Maggie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10:15 AM at St. Mary Church, Ridgefield with the Rev. Russell Augustine, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Gould's honor and memory may be made to the Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (R.O.A.R.) or to a charity of one's choosing.
