"Services for Arther "Mack" McAfee Sr., of Longview, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hebro Baptist Church with the Rev. Nash Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Lily Hill Cemetery. Mr. McAfee died February 15, 1998 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. He had retired from Lone Star Steel. He was Chairman of Deacons at Lily Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include eight daughters, Lorine McAfee, of Hallsville, Maxine McAfee, of Marshall, Mary Lee Cain (John P.) and Gwendolyn McAfee, both of Dallas, Ollie B. Holman (Rev. Cullen Holman), Rosie Mae Johnson (R.W.), of Tyler, Laveria Harper, of Garland, and Mary Lou Bell, of Corpus Christi; three sons, Arther McAfee Jr., of Hallsville, and Daniel Lee McAfee and Paul McAfee (Brenda) both of Dallas; a stepson, James Davenport, of Longview; a special friend, Victoria Tennison, of Longview; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A family hour will be held from 7-9 p.m. today at Lily Hill Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Lewis Garrett Funeral Home."
