Judy Louise Murray was born on September 3, 1930, to Pearlie Dell Hendrix Russell. She is preceded in death by her mother, a son, Harlan M. Murray, and a great-grandchild, Krayton Murray.
Her family moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1939, when she was just nine years old. "Lou" as she was affectionately known by those who know her, was educated in the Kansas City School System. She graduated from Sumner High School with the class of 1948. She was known throughout both the Kansas and Missouri cities because of her love for people. She was an active member of various social clubs throughout Kansas City for many years. In her earlier years, she was a popular and well-known fashion model and narrator for church events, social club events, and private organizations in Kansas City and other cities. With her winning smile and pleasant personality, she received many accolades and made many lasting friends.
Louise excelled to the position of Supervisor at Adler's, a retail clothing store in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. During her twenty-three years of employment with Adler's, she became well acquainted with and custom outfitted many notable and distinguished people. After leaving Adler's, she worked briefly for Casual Corner clothing store, Boatman's Bank of KC, Bank of America, and the Jones store in Bannister Mall, from which she later retired.
Louise was formerly married to Orrin Murray Jr., also of Kansas City, where they raised three loving and devoted children. Her children were inspired and taught to love God. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas where her mother, sister and niece were also former members. She was a faithful member and worked diligently to serve the Lord and work in His Vineyard. She was a member of the Voices of Inspiration choir, the Courtesy Guild, and the Mothers Board. She gladly gave of her time and assistance whenever needed, and helped with Sunday school and the Mission Board. She portrayed her love of God as she professed her love for her family, friends, and neighbors. As a true believer in prayer and supplication to God, her favorite verse of the bible was Psalms 23. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her beloved family and devoted friends who will always cherish her memory and rejoice in knowing she is with the Lord.
