Barbara Jeannette McCray, 73, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday May 11, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mattie Keith Hunt; her loving husband of 38 years, Karl B. McCray; daughter, Katherine Dennis; and grandson, Dustin Craig. Barbara retired from Kmart after 18 years of dedicated service. She loved her children and her grandchildren were the spice in her life. She loved to cook and would never let anyone leave hungry. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church for 31 years and was a member of the Women's Ministry.
Barbara is survived by her son, Michael B. McCray and wife, Connie, of Disputanta; daughter, Pamela A. McCray of South Chesterfield; grandchildren, Amber and Aaron McCray, Patrick Logan, Martin McCray, Brandon Blackmon, Austin and Richard Dennis, Tiffany Craig, Jacob Vick; three brothers; one sister; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in Hopewell. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, with Gibby Elder of Newville United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be in Bermuda Memorial Park following the service. Condolences may be registered at www.memorialfh.com.
