Sidney Wayne "Tooter" Parker of Haskell, Texas passed away Saturday evening, May 10, 2014, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Mr. Parker was 63 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the First Christian Church in Haskell with Rev. Dusty Garison officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Tuesday evening, May 13, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 304 N. 2nd Street.

Tooter was born September 3, 1950, in Ranger, Texas to Mary Elizabeth (Baker) and Fred Parker. He grew up in San Angelo and after graduating high school as an outstanding athlete, Tooter attended both Cisco and Hardin Simmons University. He married Kathy Smith on April 1, 1972, in Abilene, Texas.

Tooter loved music and as a young boy learned to play the drums on his own. A youthful adventurous man, Tooter enjoyed playing his drums through the years with different bands and also ventured out riding bulls. Tooter was full of life and enjoyed living it.

He and Kathy moved to Haskell in 1995 where Tooter was an officer with Rolling Plains Correctional Facility and a part-time chemical salesman with Lancer Industries. He served as a faithful Deacon and member of the First Christian Church in Haskell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Fred Parker; and 2 brothers, Allen Parker and Roy Parker.

Tooter leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Kathy Parker of Haskell; 2 daughters, Myra Casey and husband Mark of Midland and Sara Parker Decker and husband Marty of Haskell; 3 grandchildren, Cole and Marley Casey of Midland and Addisyn Decker of Haskell; brother, Robert Parker of Abilene; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Becky Malaise of Midland, Sherri Long of Arlington, and Joseph and Tami Smith of Grand Prairie; nephew, Spencer Malaise and wife Elizabeth of Midland; 3 nieces, Lisa Reid and husband John of McKinney, Lashelle Noel and husband Charles of Arlington, and Melissa Parker of New Foundland.

Serving as pallbearers for Tooter are Chip Cole, Spencer Malaise, Henry Flores, Mark Casey, Cole Casey, Marty Decker, Robert Parker, and Joseph Smith. Honorary pallbearers are George Malaise, Dr. Wayne Cadenhead, Wayne Brown, Godson, Judson Cole, Chili Cole, and Sam Pace.
