TUSCALOOSA | Annie Shaw McElroy, age 98, of Tuscaloosa, died May 11, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Jimmy Garner officiating and Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shaw; her husband, William Charles McElroy; and her son, Phillip McElroy.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Terry McElroy (Joanna) of Cottondale and Lamar McElroy (Virginia) of Northport; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was the loving mother of three sons. She enjoyed more than anything cooking for her family. She was retired from Bryce Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Marty McElroy, Phil McElroy, Ken Lane, Hayden Johnson, Kevin Williams, Richard Chick and Billie Moon.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Skyland Blvd. Baptist Church and neighbors of 23E- 41st Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Skyland Blvd. Baptist Church.
