Justin L. Christie, 57, Route 3, Chilton, died October 1, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton after a short illness.

He was born January 20, 1924, in Stockbridge, a son of the late James and Monica Grogan Christie. On February 3, 1946, he and Mildred Schumacher were married at Camp Pickett, Va.

They farmed on the Christie Homestead in the town of Stockbridge for 33 years. Mr. Christie was a veteran of World War II, serving in France.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church Stockbridge, the William D. Hostettler American Legion Post 128, Stockbridge, and was treasurer of the town of Stockbridge for six years.

Surviving are his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Paul (Susan) Ludwig of Chilton, Mrs. James (Peg) Meyer of Green Bay, Pat and Mary Christie of Stevens Point, Amy of Appleton and Mrs. Gary (Janine) Karls of Chilton; one son, Jeff, of Prairie Du Chien; six grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Donald Trott of Fond du Lac, Mrs. James Lewellin of Waterloo, Mrs. Earl Hemauer of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ms. Mary Alice Christie of Madison.

Funeral Mass was at St. Mary Church, Stockbridge, with the Rev. John Feeney, pastor, celebrant. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
