Born in Indiana, John Brackenridge was an attorney who was blessed with excellent delivery of speech. When he was young, Abraham Lincoln would walk many miles just to hear Brackenridge plead law. It is said that Brackenridge would lend books to young Lincoln.
Sometime later, John Brackenridge moved to Jackson County, Texas and established the first Presbyterian Church of Texana.
