Al Bullock, 67, died at his home in Gridley on Friday, Sept. 2, following a long illness. He was born April 12, 1921, in Oklahoma and moved to Gridley in 1982 from San Pablo, Mr. Bullock was a Catrans employee for about 20 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Liberty Ward of Gridley. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Gridley Lodge No. 1594 and a member of the North Valley Dance Club of Gridley. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, of Gridley; two sons, Alva L. Bullock of Suisun City and Michael C. Bullock of Napa; three sisters, Edna Sledge and Dorothy Durham, both of Duncan, Ok[l]a., and Stella Findley of Boron; a brother, Ralph Bullock of Weatherford, Texas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Liberty Ward, in Gridley, with Bishop Wayne Thomas conducting. Burial followed Tuesday afternoon at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond. Contributions to the American Cancer Society are suggested by the family and may be left at Gridley-Block Funeral Home.
