Fonville Junior High School
Class of June 1966 Sam Houston High School..

Morris Thigpin was born to the union of Arthur Elliott and Mavis Jewel Morris Thigpin of Texas....he grew up in Houston, Texas on Cromwell Street behind Melrose Park and later on Foy Lane off of East LittleYork with his older brother Arthur/1945 and attended the opening year 1961 of Fonville Junior High School and Sam Houston High School for his Sophomore and Junior Years, set to graduate in 1966...he is pictured in our Yearbook for both years, but apparently left before graduation with the Class of 1966....and like many young men of our time period honorably served in Viet Nam and returned home !....he lived in the Houston area afterwards, joined the New Cadet School and served with the Houston Police Department. He then worked for a service station and decided to re-enlist in the military and served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army. Morris enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and just sitting and visiting with a cold glass of sweet tea or hot coffee...He was married to the former Rebecca Martinez and they made their home in Bedias,Grimes, Texas where he was living when he passed away from an aneurysm. At the time he was employed by MonterreyMushrooms of Madisonville, Texas.....Morris was a kind friend to me and I remember him well as both our families worshipped together at the Greenwood Village Church of Christ located on the south bound feeder of the Eastex Freeway/IH 59 at the East Little York exit during the late 1960s.....

...rest in peace Morris.... you left us way-y too soon.....

.....It has been some years now, but there is not a single day that goes by that I don't think of and remember and miss you. I miss the fishing trips, the firecrackers, just being together.. I have always treasured those times because it seems a lot of things did not go as you planned. But now that You and Dad are gone home and as I myself get older, I treasure them even more. The Boys are a lot like You and Daddy in many ways. I see the both of you in both of them. As long as There are Thigpins, you will always be remembered with Love, Honor and Respect. I pray that I will be The Man and The Father you want me to be always.
Love Always,
Arthur,Jr
