STANLEY ADAMS, FOUNDER OF DRAFT HORSE GROUP, DIES
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Stanley "A.S." Adams of Dry Ridge, founding member and first president of the Kentucky Draft Horse Association, died Saturday. He was 76.
Mr. Adams was a retired artificial insemination technician at the Kentucky Artificial Breeding Association, where he worked for 22 years. He was also a farmer, Belgian horse breeder and a member of the Mount Olivet Church of Christ.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Freda Work Adams; two sons, Franklin D. Adams of Cynthiana and Marion "Shorty" Adams of Crittenden; one daughter, Anna Marie Evans of Crittenden; two brothers; one sister; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

He was an artificial insemination technician for 22 years for the Kentucky Artificial Breeding Association. He was a founding member, charter member and first president of the Kentucky Draft Horse Association, and was a member of Mt. Olivet Church of Christ, Grant County.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Freda Work Adams; sons, Franklin D. Adams of Cynthiana and Marion Adams of Crittenden; a daughter, Anna Marie Evans of Crittenden; brothers, Roscoe Adams of Williamstown and Ronald Adams of Spring City, Tenn.; a sister, Ruby Taylor of Owensville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be there from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Fairview Christian Church.
