COLUMBUS, Ohio - Charles E. Shank, 86, of Columbus, formerly of Bancroft, W.Va., died March 15, 1998, in Mount Carmel Hospital, Columbus, after a short illness.

He was a retired member of Carpenters Union Local 200 and a member of Broadman Baptist Church

Surviving: wife, Laura Walsh Shank; daughters, Helen Fox of Eleanor, Beulah Mae "Bootie" Parsons of Midway, W.Va.; sons, Charles Shank of St. Albans, Jackie M. Shank of Winfield; sisters, Zelma Adamson of Jackson, Ohio, Helen Turey of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, W.Va., with the Rev. W. David Lett officiating. Burial will be in Schowen Cemetery, Bancroft. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
