Mr. Samuel " Sammy" Ronald Baker age 45 of Mtn. View Circle Blue Ridge passed away on Saturday May 10, 2014 in the Erlanger Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Baker was born on March 3, 1969 in Tate, GA. the son of the late Edward Baker and the late Evelyn Freeman Baker. Sammy was a lifelong resident of Fannin County. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and was a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents and also by three brothers, Junior, Donny and Jake Baker and by one sister, Sissy Gibbs. Sammy was of the Baptist faith. Surviving Sammy are his loving wife of sixteen years, Susan Cole Baker of Blue Ridge, one son and daughter in law, Bryant and Katie Baker of Blue Ridge, two daughters and one son in law, Patience and Randy Dockery of Ellijay, Destiny Baker of Blue Ridge, sister, Alice Cole of Cleveland, TN., two brothers and one sister in law, Daniel and Kathy Baker of Coeburn, VA., David Baker of Blue Ridge, sisters and brothers in law, Nancy and Harry Abercrombie of Mineral Bluff, Mary and Bo Eaton of Blue Ridge, Shirley and Richard Stevens and Sherry and Rodney Sawyer all of Copperhill, TN., Barbara and Steve Swanson of Chancytown, TN., sister in law, Sue Baker of Chatsworth, brother in law, George Gibbs of Mineral Bluff, one grandchild, Miracle Dockery, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at 2:00pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Reed Nichols officiating. Special music will be presented by Richard Stevens and Jonathan Abercrombie. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Josh Mashburn, Cody Herring, Randy Dockery, Bo Eaton, Jonathan Abercrombie, Rodney Sawyer Jr., Rodney Sawyer Sr. and C.H. Cole. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, David, Bryant and Danny Baker and Harry Abercrombie. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-9pm.
