Beverly Louise Weigel, 83, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Oak Grove Nursing Center. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at St. John LaLande Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W Main Street in Blue Springs, with a Rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to either St. John LaLande Catholic Church or Crossroads Hospice.

Beverly was born August 19, 1930, in Atchison, Kansas to John and Emma (Hostetter) Wohletz. She married Donald Weigel on February 9, 1952. Beverly was employed by Benedix/Allied Signal for 33 years, retiring in 1991. Beverly was a member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 499.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald Weigel, her parents John and Emma Wohletz and brother James. Beverly is survived by her 3 sons, Jim Weigel and wife Tina of Blue Springs, Mo., John Weigel and wife Cheryl of Blue Springs, Mo., and Joe Weigel and wife Cindy of Oak Grove, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Shawn and wife Jennifer, Brandon, Justin and wife Megan, Angela, Austin, Eric and Kalyn Weigel; six great grandchildren, Preston, Donald, Alyssa, Dylan, Max and Monte Weigel; sister Ruth Beckman, Novato, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beverly loved baking pies, cooking for her family, flowers on her patio, playing bingo with friends, meeting the ladies for lunch and crafts at church, making cross-stitch quilts for her loved ones, eating breakfast at Bob Evans, President Bill Clinton, and having her hair done every Friday at the beauty shop. Her love for family and friends will be greatly missed; Bev was a blessing to all who knew her. She will be in our hearts forever.
