Mae E. Abbott, 74, of Vestal, died Sunday morning, March 4, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, as a result of Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Walker Teetsell (Roy) and her father, George Walker. She is survived by her husband, George Abbott, Vestal; children and their spouses, Keith and Cherie Abbott, Vestal, Kirk and Carrie Abbott, Apalachin, Tina and Bill Zacharias, Concord, N.C.; grandchildren, Steven and his wife, Jacqulyn Zacharias, Concord, N.C., Brian Zacharias, Las Vegas, Nev., Ashley Abbott and her fiance, Dwight Evans, Wilmington, N.C., Kirstie, Kyle and Cole Abbott, Apalachin; great-granddaughter, Morgan Zacharias, Concord, N.C.; sister, Lorna Kinney; sisters-in-law, Roberta Guerrierio (Al), Marie Abbott, Cheryl Pettyjohn (Roy); special friend, Judy Shaw (Bob). Mae was Manager of the Empire Federal Credit Union and retired after more than 20 years of service. She was a member and past-president of the Vestal Fire Department Auxiliary, Station 3. Mae will be remembered most for her loving devotion to her family. Her greatest joy was attending her children's and grandchildren's racing, sporting and school events.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Connie Lightner, Vestal Town Clerk, and dear friend, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
