Gary's generous heart for both cats and fellow travelers who needed a comfortable home was an identity piece. Over the course of his faithful membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gary completed a full-time mission in Germany, served for ten years as a temple worker, and accomplished heroic quantities of genealogical research.
Gary is survived by his brother, Robert Ludwig; and sister, Donna Ludwig Reeves. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Frederick Ludwig and Francis Neslen Ludwig; a brother, William Ludwig; and a sister, Marilyn Ludwig Kipp. Generations of nieces and nephews will miss his informed conversation, charming sense of humor, endearing personality, and legendary appetite.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the Crestview Chapel, 2795 East Crestview Drive, Salt Lake City. There will be a viewing held one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City.
