Amber was born in her childhood farm home at Storm Lake to Peter and Alice (Richter) Fullenworth on Oct. 30, 1915. She started school in 1921. She attended Grant #8 country school for eight years, walking to school every day. She attended Sulphur Springs High School, graduating in 1933. She married Freeman Nelson on June 9, 1946 and they moved west in 1946 to the Pendleton, Or. area, where Freeman was a foreman on a wheat ranch. Later they operated a motel at Blaine, Wa. Amber moved to Bellingham in her later years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Karl, George, Ted and Robert (in infancy) Fullenworth; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Fullenworth.
