On 30 April 1910 Naturalized English born Henry Bennetts (36) Own Income, Immigration Year 1881, married 10 years, Pennsylvania born wife Elizabeth Bennetts (26) with sons Cecil Bennetts (6),John Bennetts (5), Raymond Bennetts (4), David Bennetts (2) and boarder Lesslie Moss (20) lived in Bigler, Clearfield, Pennsylvania

Henry Bennetts lost his life June 9, 1917 in the North Butte Granite Mountain Speculator Mine fire. It was the worst hard-rock mining disaster in American history.

The story of that fateful night is told in Michael Punke's book FIRE AND BRIMSTONE-The North Butte Mining Disaster of 1917.

Gravesite Details

Henry Bennetts is listed on the Granite Mountain Memorial in Mountain View but his headstone is in the family plot at Mount Moriah. His body was unidentified and he is thought to be buried in Mountain View. Mount Moriah has no record of his burial.
