Hiram Purdy Smith, one of the best known citizens of the town of Clarkstown and a well known member of the order of Odd Fellows, died at his home near West Nyack on Friday last after a slight illness. His funeral took place on Sunday from the Clarkstown Reformed church, and was largely attended, all the prominent members of the Odd Fellows in the county being present and assisting in paying the last tokens of respect and esteem to one they loved and admired in his lifetime. He is survived by a wife, who is an invalid, and several children.
