Regina died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, in St. James Healthcare in Butte.

She was born April 3, 1924, outside of Belfield, N.D., to Joseph and Philabina (Nuss) Reisenauer. She married Lloyd H. Sanders on Jan. 3, 1948, in Dickinson, N.D. They had two sons, Bruce and Ronald. Regina worked as an aide at Montana State Hospital for approximately 20 years.

She was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables. She loved animals and birds, especially humming birds and bunnies she fed in her yard. She enjoyed doing ceramics, sewing projects, knitting slippers for everyone and oil painting. Regina also enjoyed going to every garage sale she could get to. She always enjoyed her morning and evening walks around the West Valley with her dear friend and neighbor Sheila Saur; they together planted trees at West Valley Park. She enjoyed volunteering at the thrift store, food bank, and Catholic Community Church, and others.

In 1986 at 65 years of age, she climbed to the very top of Mount Haggin with son, Ron, and his wife, Cindy, and grandsons Warren, James and Jim.

Regina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; brothers, Leo and Pete; sisters, Betty, Tillie, and Rose; grandson, Dillon; sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Mary.
