Graveside services for Vicki Lynn Simmons will be held at noon Monday, May 12, 2014, in Center Cemetery, Harleton, with Bro. Will Sherman officiating. Interment will follow. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, prior to the service, at Downs Funeral Home, Marshall. Ms. Simmons passed away May 7, 2014, in Tyler.
Vicki Simmons was born May 21, 1960, in Marshall to Glenn Simmons and Janet West Carver. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. Vicki enjoyed cooking, painting flowers and animals. She worked at the VFW in Tyler. Vicki often said, "I wish I could get paid for cooking," because she loved cooking that much. However, she never ate much of her cooking due to being full after tasting everything as she cooked. Vicki also enjoyed watching NASCAR and football.
Vicki is survived by her parents, Glenn Simmons, Janet Carver and husband A.D.; son, Rusty Winn; aunt, Judy Summers; friends, David, John, Brian and others; and co-workers.
