Carl Theodore Keller, age 89 of the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County passed away Tuesday evening April 15, 2014 at Bethany Home in Waupaca.

Carl was born on March 28, 1925 at home on a farm in the Town of Royalton, Waupaca County as the son of the late Joseph and Auguste (Roehlich) Keller. At the age of 2 Carl moved with his family to the Matteson Farm in the Town of Matteson, Waupaca County just outside of Clintonville. Carl was brought up on this farm and lived there until the farm was sold in 1947 at which time he moved to Clintonville with his widowed mother and younger sister Delores. In late 1945 Carl and his brother William opened Keller's Appliance Shop in Clintonville and were later joined by brother Alfred. The 3 brothers operated the store until the untimely death of William in 1957. Carl and Alfred continued to operate the business, which had been expanded to include TV & electronics and electrical contracting, until the sale of their business in 1991 and eventual retirement in 1994. Carl met Fay A. Myhre from Lengby, MN and later on October 5, 1957 they were united in marriage in that city. They built a home Northwest of Clintonville in the Town of Larrabee where they have lived since. Carl was an active member of Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville. He served on the Church Council for 18 years and on the property committee for over 40 years. He also was an officer for AAL branch 4085 at Christus for 20 years serving as Vice President and President. He was also active in community affairs serving as a director of the Clintonville Association of Commerce for 6 years including 1 term as President. He served as a director and secretary/treasurer of Greater Clintonville #2 for 20 years. He was involved in Scouting with Cub Pack 3028, Troop 28 and Varsity Team 6028 in many positions such as Scouting Coordinator, Troop Committee Member & Chairman, Charter Organization Representative etc. for over 40 years as well as a Scout District 12 Committee Member and Publicity Chairman for 15 years. Carl received the Unit Spark Plug Award, the District Award of Merit, the Silver Beaver Award, the Lutheran Lamb Award, and the Outstanding Charter Representative for 2002/2003. He also received the Clintonville Lions Club Service Recognition Award in 2004. Carl was active in his retirement in working at the Christus Memorial Camp, located in the Buckbee area Northwest of Clintonville. He was involved in the maintenance and improvement of that facility as well as helping out at the church. He was also interested in old car collecting, having a 1951 Packard he purchased new and licensed and used continuously through the years and had other cars and a motorcycle also. He and Fay belonged to several car clubs and attended many car shows. He was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2007 as "The Longest Original Owner of a vehicle from new".

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William "Bill", sisters Elizabeth "Betty", Helen, & Delores, 3 Grandchildren in infancy Barbara, Kevin, & Robert Harris, a niece Janice Hull, and 4 brothers-in-law Irving Johnson, Willard Bartell, Kermit Sieber, and Stewart Huber.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 at 11 AM at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian James Crocker officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.

Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville from 3 – 6 PM on Sunday and at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
