"From time to time, I have heard from several researchers who are working on the family of Franklin Francis Ashley's parents' Jordan Ashley (ca.1801-ca.1865) and wife (Barbara Schumaker)?. Both Francis Ashley who married Lucinda Toliver and
his brother William who married Christine Perry, married in the 1840's during the family's short stop in Ashe Co, NC. before moving on to KY. If memory serves me correctly they were in Wilkes Co, NC before their stopover in Ashe County. To the best of my knowledge, no researcher has been able to identify the parents of this Jordan Ashley."
