Bernice Mae Ford, 86 of rural Robinson, IL, died at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 06, 2014 at Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, after an extended illness.

She was born April 17, 1928 in West Salem, IL, the daughter of Earl Ibbotson and Ella Hodgson Ibbotson.

Bernice was a member of the Hardinville Christian Church, She was baptized at the Shiloh Christian Church at an early age. She was a member of the Stitch and Sew Quilting Group at the Church. She made many quilts during her lifetime. She loved needlework and self taught herself crocheting. She was a very strong woman and loved living on their farm. Bernice was a wonderful cook and loved her family. She worked at the shoe factory and for Victor Dana for a time.

She married Mark Ford on June 14, 1947 and he survives. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Virginia Ford; her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Bob Higginbotham; a grandson and his wife, Jeremy and Trisha Ford; her granddaughter and husband, Jill and Roger Sisson; grandson, Robert Mark Higginbotham; granddaughter, Kara Higginbotham; three great grandchildren, Josie Ford, Carly Sisson, and Aaron Sisson, two step great-grandchildren, Thomas Sisson and John Sisson. She is also survived by her sister, Anna Belle Deisher; brother and sister-in-law, John and Laura Ibbotson; her sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Gene Sturm; and her sister-in-law, Joann Ford; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Pastors Bob Tinskey and Jeffrey Brinkman officiating.

Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the "Stitch and Sew Group" for missions.
