Brenda Jean Sherman, 55, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born July 10, 1958, in Dodge City, KS, she was the daughter of Jack and Wilma (Rosproy) Lorenzen.
Brenda graduated from Dodge City High School in 1976 and received a nursing degree from Dodge City Community College. She worked as a registered nurse for many years. She was a resident of Coldwater, KS, moving there in 2002 from Mesa, AZ. On August 10, 2002, she married Dru Sherman at Coldwater, KS. Brenda enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and flowers. She loved to decorate for the holidays, but her favorite hobby was spending time with her grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her husband: Dru Sherman of Coldwater, KS; her mother: Wilma Lorenzen of Mesa, AZ; her daughter: Kristin Kettwich and her husband Richard of Pratt, KS; three step-children: Denae Sherman of Coldwater, KS, Dace Sherman of Tulsa, OK, and Dia Unruh and her husband Jacob of Coldwater, KS; two sisters: Kim Post and her husband Doug of Mesa, AZ and Jacqueline Lorenzen of Colby, KS; a grandson: Glenn Kettwich; and a granddaughter: Jalee Unruh.
She was preceded in death by her father: Jack Lorenzen; and one sister: Becky Lorenzen.
