Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Haylock-Womack, age 60 of Orange, Texas died Thursday May 8, 2014 at Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth in Beaumont, Texas.

She was born October 17, 1953 in Kaceiba, Honduras to Celeste Elizabeth Connors and Edward Victor Haylock and had been a resident of Orange since 1956.

Betty enjoyed crabbing, fishing and traveling. She loved the outdoors and was a walking encyclopedia. There wasn't much that she couldn't do. She was considered the Mother of the family. Betty was also a published writer and author.

Survivors include her mother, Celeste Connor Jefferson, son, Richard Rodgers and his wife Chantel of Nederland, Texas, brothers, Edward Haylock, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Stephen Haylock of The Colony and Steve Griffin and his wife, Dana of Lumberton, Texas, stepbrother, Wayne Jefferson and his wife, Cindy, of Nederland, stepsons, Jimmy Dale Womack III and Josh Womack, both of Orange, stepdaughter, Misty Womack of Port Acres, Texas, grandchildren, Dustin Rodgers and Chase Rodgers, step-granddaughter, Fianna Wright, mother-in-law, Vivian Womack Birdwell of San Augustine, sister friends, Linda Medrano and her husband, Joe and Linda Villegas and her husband, Dr. Leo Villegas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dale Womack, Jr. who died Saturday, May 3, 2014, father, Edward Haylock and half-sister, Darla Haylock-Schaffer.

A gathering of Mrs. Womack's family and friends will be from 5pm until 7pm Monday, May 12, 2014 at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street in Nederland, Texas.

Her funeral service will be 10am Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Broussard's.

A graveside service to follow at 2pm at Chinquapin Cemetery, Chinquapin Cemetery Road in San Augustine, Texas.
