Rosedale - GEORGIA P. HOLMES, 90, retired Postmaster of Rosedale, passed away at Delta Regional Medical Center on Monday, May 24, 2010. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Rosedale, MS with the Reverend Allen Robison and the Reverend Jimmy Breland officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 4-6 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Miss. Additional funeral services will be conducted at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville, Ark., on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral in Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville, AR.

Mrs. Holmes was born on November 30, 1919, to James Edison Parrish and Alva Stevenson Parrish in Blytheville, AR. She married Elmer E. Holmes on November 19, 1938 in Blytheville, AR.

Mrs. Holmes loved to cook, was a member of National Association of Postmasters, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Rosedale, MS. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Holmes.

She is survived by her sons, Charles W. Holmes of Hollandale, MS and Wayne E. "Bud" Holmes of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, Bradley, Ashley, and Brian Holmes; sisters: Margie P. Rinehart of Steele, Mo., and Rose P. Crowe of Blytheville, AR; and brothers, Charles T. Parrish of Sherwood, AR, and James E. Parrish, Jr. of Huntingdon, TN.

Pallbearers are H.M. Chenault, Jack Bono, Billy Tabb, Don Lindsey, Albert Bickers, Will Gurley, Charles Fioranelli and Seth "Tee" Travis. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Barnes, Hugh Ellis Walker, Durwood Long, Wesley Brown, Ray Travis, Dr. Bill Lewis and Dr. Ben Folk.
