LATE PRIEST WAS STUDENT AT ST MARY'S
Rev. Father John Feldman Passes Away at Parish Home in Cincinnati.

Rev Father John M Feldmann, pastor of Sacred Heart church, at Cincinnati, widely known in Catholic circles, died Sunday at Cincinnati, following an attack of heart disease. His home originally was in Dayton. He was pastor of Sacred Heart congregation, Camp Washington, for the past thirty-four years, which la one of the largest congregations in the archdiocese. At the time of his death, Father Feldmann was chairman of the archdiocesan building commission, one of the consultors to the archbishop and dean of the Cincinnati district. Father Feldman was born In Dayton, March 25, 1851. Ha attended Immanuel school here, continued his studies at St Mary Institute, St Thomas seminary, Bardstown, Ky, and Mt St Mary's seminary, Cincinnati, where he finished his studies for the priesthood in 1871. In 1874 Father Feldmann was ordained priest and continued as professor of classics at Mt St Mary's seminary until 1879, when he was sent to Washington C. H. to organize a parish. He was given charge of the parishes of Troy and Tippecanoe City and was appointed to succeed Father Paul as pastor of Sacred Heart church in April, 1884. The parents of Father Feldmann are buried in Calvary cemetery, and there is a possibility, it was said Monday morning, that the body of the deceased priest may be brought here for burial, as a lot is reserved tor him.
