Marvin Elton Stanley, 89, of the Six Mile Community near Hemphill, died Thursday morning in his home. Mr. Stanley was born in Hagler, Arkansas, to Clarence and Erva Simpson Stanley. He has lived in Six Mile since 1975, coming there from Houston where he was a manager for Camco Co. Mr. Stanley was an avid bass fisherman and gardener and a member of the Six Mile Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Tina Stanley of Six Mile, his sons; Keith Stanley and his wife Carla of Huntington, TX, John Stanley and his wife Georgia of Milam, TX, his daughter Janet McBride of Huntington, eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Stanley, his sisters; Ruby Ennis and Mildred Boston.

Visitation will begin at 9:00AM, Monday, May 12, 2014, in the Six Mile Baptist Church, until funeral service time at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in the Oakhill Cemetery near Six Mile.
