Carol Sue Potter, 76, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side on May 7, 2014. She valiantly battled cancer this past year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Gladys Blankenbeker; and her brother, Rollyn Blankenbeker. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert "Bobby" Potter; children, Scott Potter (Debbie), Kerry Potter (Cheri), Margy Jones (Kyle), Jay Potter and Rick Potter; siblings, Judith Storz, Claudia Griffin, Joe Blankenbeker and Rita Dean, and 12 grandchildren.

Carol Sue was born on July 22, 1937, in Shelbyville, IN, and moved to Jeffersonville shortly thereafter with her family. She spent the majority of her life in Jeffersonville. She graduated from Jeffersonville High School and married Bobby Potter, her high school sweetheart, in June of 1958, following his graduation from the University of Louisville. Despite the busy demands of being a wife and mother, Carol found time to attend college classes at Indiana University Southeast and Miami of Ohio.

Carol Sue was an avid golfer, bridge player and longtime active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Known for her quick wit, gregarious charm and impeccable sense of humor, she brought joy into the lives of those she touched. Carol Sue took pride in raising her children and dedicated herself to supporting and assisting her husband and children in pursuing their goals. She was a diligent and tireless worker for her husband's political campaigns. She gave to numerous charities throughout her life and tried to help those less fortunate than herself. She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church.
