Rose Murga Gomez, 85, died Saturday, May 3 at Kindred Hospital of natural causes.

A native of Corona, Gomez was a resident of Fontana for 62 years. She worked for Victoria's Bride and Formal and the office of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, served as a eucharistic minister, and was a member of Catholic Daughters in Fontana.

Gomez is survived by her sons, Michael and Gary Gomez of Fontana; her daughter, Rosalie Gomez Galenec of Rancho Cucamonga; her sisters, Mary Orduno, Virginia Alaniz, and Lucille Hampton, all of Corona; and a brother, Henry Murga of Moreno Valley. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Michael Gomez Jr., Dawn Gomez, and Sarah Farmer, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Viewing/rosary will be held on Thursday, May 15 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Stanley L. Dickey Mortuary, Fontana.

Mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated May 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Edwards in Corona, followed by burial at Sunnyslope Cemetery. Dickey Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
