George served as a Private, Coast Artillery Corps, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Merrimack County, New Hampshire & was a member of the New Hampshire National Guard prior to the war.

His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on September 22, 1940, prior to the war, from Concord, New Hampshire. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Millwright and also as Single, without dependents.

George "Died Of Wounds" received in action during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
