STEPHENS -- Herman L., 79, lifelong Tulsa resident, entered eternal life, Saturday, December 31, 2005. He was born March 14, 1926, in Tulsa, OK, to Herman and Wilmina (Garrison) Stephens. He graduated from Will Rogers High School and then was honored to serve his country, during World War II, in the U.S. Navy. He was awarded the Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon. Herman married Val Stephens, April, 1982, in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his father; mother; and sister, Inez McNabb. Herman is survived by: his wife of 23 years, Val; children, Sandy Moore, Vicki Phelps, Jodie Hoy, Sherry Bakkum; brothers, Herschel and Sam Stephens; sister, Marion Minugh; grandchildren, Dustin and Amber Humphrey, Alexander and Russell Moore, Michael Hoy, Jennifer Odeneal, Brandon and Brian Bakkum; great-grandchildren, Isabella DeVors, Madison Humphrey, Odie and Archer Odeneal, and Preslie Hoy; and many loving friends and family. Service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, with Pastor Troy Hayes presiding. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
