Warren Davis was born in 1766 in Prince William County, Virginia and was a combat soldier in the American Revolution. He was captured by the Indians while serving with General William Henry Harrison and was in danger of being killed, but he managed to establish a bond with the Chief who adopted him into his tribe. Warren Davis married Mollie Kincheloe in Nelson County, Kentucky, and later moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, before moving to San Augustine County, Texas in 1820. He died March 26, 1838 and was buried in an unmarked grave in the Upper Chireno Cemetery.
