Devin LaRue died at Rolling Plains Hospital on May 7, 2014 at the age of 52. He was a Sweetwater resident.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Roger Mobley officiating.

Devin was born in Sweetwater on February 11, 1962 then moved to California where he graduated high school before returning to Sweetwater. He was a member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church in Sweetwater. Devin had worked for several of the wind energy companies and was currently a superintendent for Coe Construction Company. He had attended TSTC Sweetwater Campus.

Survivors include: wife-Kim LaRue of Sweetwater; daughters-Misty Jolley of Comerio, Lombarbia, Italy, Casey LaRue Chavez of Abilene, Texas; sons-Josh LaRue of Sweetwater, Seth LaRue of Sweetwater; sisters-Alicia LaRue of Big Timber, Montana, Erin Thompson of Emigrant, Montana, and Kristin Chaney of Kerrville, Texas; and 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Bartell "Bart" LaRue in 1990 and Valerie Ercikson LaRue, and his grandmother, Iva Sherrill in 2010.

Pallbearers will be Josh LaRue, Seth LaRue, Bo Vandiver, Leo Chavez, Benny McElroy and Dwaylyn Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Bailey and Tony Smith.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
