Son of the late John Elijah Smith and Emma (Suiter) Smith Snow of Frenchburg, Ky. He was a structural iron-worker for 40 years and a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 290. He attended Trinity Christian Union Church in Greenfield.

Suvivors include his wife, Alberta (Short) Smith whom he married in 1935. They were blessed with one daughter, Sue Smith Gwinn of Jamestown; 3 sons, David (Becky) Smith of Arcanum, Charles (Christine) Smith, and John Smith, all of Greenfield; and seven grandchildren.

Tribue was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Albert (1900-1907) Clark (1905-1910) Vernon (1920-1968) and infant William (1922); five sisters, Bertha (Johnny) Wilkins (1903-1990), Golda Ledford (1908-1974), Elizabeth (Eddy) Fouts (1913-1983), Myrtle Rae (Harold) Cooper (1915-2004), and Ona Ethel (Gerald) Browning (1917-2001).

Graveside services will be Jan. 12th, 2006, 1 p.m. at the Greenfield Cemetery with Pastor Robert Chroninger, officiating.
