Frese was born May 2, 1916, in Craigmont, Alberta, to Robert and Winnie Robinson Barker. She married Harold Bofferding on Oct. 30, 1937, in Everett, Wash. He died in 1968. She married Alfred Frese on Dec. 10, 1971, in Eugene. He died March 8, 1979.
She grew up in Fort Francis in Ontario and later lived in Anoka, Minn., Glendale, Calif., and Colorado Springs, Colo. She also had lived in Lowell and was a Eugene area resident for more than 50 years.
She had worked as a floral designer, head cashier at J.C. Penney and the Bon Marche, and at the Lane County Assessor's Office until her retirement in 1978. She was active in the River Road Seniors and Campbell Senior Center.
She was a member of Garden Way Church and a former member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed square dancing, world travel, reading and watching and supporting Oregon Public Broadcasting. She will be remembered as a tour guide for River Road trips, a bingo caller, a knitter of hats for children, a FISH worker and a crafter.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Banks of Eugene, Audrey Beer of Beaverton and Janet Campbell of Bend; a son, Robert Bofferding of Eugene; a brother, Art Vansteenkist and a sister, Joy Barker, both of Canada; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A grandson, Michael Banks Sr., died previously.
Thursday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene. Entombment will be in West Lawn Memorial Park.
