Ms. Betty Newsome worked in the Valley High School cafeteria for over 10 years. Her husband, James Elvin Newsome preceded her in death in 1975. Ms. Newsome had one child by a previous marriage, John Blackmon, who served in the US Army until his retirement. John and his wife Marianne live in Oklahoma. Mr. and Ms. Newsome had 3 children together. James Ray Newsome, who resides in Opelika AL. Randall Lee Newsome married Joella Padgett, who also resides in Valley AL. Donna Marie Newsome who resides in FL. Ms. Newsome lived to see her 6 grand-children born. Their names are oldest to youngest: Mitchell, Jim, Jennifer, Chris, Bethany, and Autumn. Ms. Newsome was a very loved individual in her community, church and amongst family and friends. She is very much missed.
