Mariele L. Buchholz, 88, formerly of rural Kiel, died Wednesday evening, March 13, 2013 at Willowpark Residence, New Holstein where she resided the past 1 1/2 years.

She was the former Mariele Klemme, born April 4, 1924 in the Town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Otto & Linda (Boeger) Klemme. Mariele attended Rockville Grade School and was a 1942 graduate of Kiel High School. On June 22, 1946 she married Eldon Buchholz at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel. She was a secretary at Stoelting Company, Kiel before her marriage.

She took great pride in raising her family and farming with Eldon in the Town of Eaton. Mariele was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel and the Eaton Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, collecting stamps, plastic canvas stitching and crosswords.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Eldon of New Holstein, two children: Allen (Bette) Buchholz, rural Kiel, Bev (Paul) Schwoerer, Kiel and nine grandchildren; Keith (Brenda) Buchholz, Sara (Mike) Schwarz, Amy (Steve) Plate, Jodi (Ben) Conrad, Holly (Matt) Dittmer, Jill (Matt) Wilkens, Gina (Mitch) Reid, Paul Mueller and Scott Mueller. She is further survived by eleven great grandchildren; Emily, Logan, Josh, Melanie, Jessica, Natalie, Alex, Kendyl, Kylie, Addilyn & Grace, son-in-law, Myron “Moose” (Marlene) Mueller, rural Kiel, two sisters-in-law, Eunice Hoefler, New Holstein, Bernice Hameister, Sheboygan Falls, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Annette Mueller, infant brother, Clinton Klemme, sister-in-law, Wilma Buchholz and brothers-in-law, Joe Hoefler, Harvey Hameister and Lester Buchholz.

According to Mariele's wishes there will be no services. Cremation has taken place with burial at Eaton Cemetery
