One of our most upright and honorable citizens and neighbors passed away on Saturday night, Jan. 4, 1890. Joseph Vance Berry was born in Knox county, Ohio, October 9, 1813; married to Miss Millie Aul May 13, 1834. He moved to Andrew county in the spring of '39, of which he has since been a resident. He leaves a widow and eight children living-four boys and four girls, all married but one girl. Uncle Joseph Berry was an honest, industrious man, and left the widow and children well provided for, but he will be greatly missed as a husband, father, neighbor and good citizen. He was a member of the M.E. Church, South, and lived in the faith fifty-four years. Rev. Sliook, of Savannah, conducted the funeral services. So in death we have lost an excellent man. He was buried in the Fillmore cemetery.
