Esther Mary Andersen Nelson

Passed away Jan 5, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 88.

Born Nov 11, 1913 to Erastus Michael and Anine Andersen, she married John W. Nelson June 17, 1939 in the LDS Temple. She graduated valedictorian from Bell High School in California.

Esther worked for Streator Chevrolet for 32 years. She was a loving mother with a great sense of humor. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Red was her favorite color.

She is survived by Arnold (Darlene) Andersen, brother; five children, Anina (Hugo) Diederich, Shauna (Norman) Steen, Alayna Nelson, Dann (April) Nelson, Kelly (Pat) Nelson, all of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by John W. Nelson, husband; Erastus and Anine Andersen, parents; Joseph and Henry, brothers; Luella, sister; David, grandson; and Wendy, great-granddaughter.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tues. Jan 8, 2002, Cottonwood Mortuary (4670 Highland Dr). Friends and family may call Mon, Cottonwood Mortuary, 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens (10600 S 1700 E).
