Mrs. Jefferson Myers, widow of the ex-United States shipping board member and one of Oregon's foremost citizens for many decades, died at the family home, 1731 N.E. 12th avenue, Tuesday morning just six hours before funeral services were held for her late husband, who succumbed to pneumonia December 29.
Mrs. Myers had undergone a major operation last October and had been confined to her bed since. She was not aware of her husband's death, having gone into a coma shortly before he was stricken. She died without regaining consciousness.
Born Helen Rowe in Connecticut in 1861, she became the second wife of Jefferson Myers February 14, 1913, at the Little Church Around the Corner.
Survivors are a niece, Mrs. Rose Clow, Albany, N.Y. and a nephew, John Cottrell, Washington, D.C.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2:30 P.M. at the chapel of Holman & Lutz, N.E. 14th and Sandy boulevard. Burial will be at Riverview cemetery.
