In the 1900 census of Chicago, they were residing at 169 Hastings St. Chicago and Daniel is listed as 53 years of age, with wife Amelia 47, and sons Daniel Jr. age 24, John and Peter both age 14, all the children were born in Illinois. John had immigrated from Switzerland in 1857 and was a naturalized citizen, Amelia immigrated from Canada in 1855.
