Capt. Robert Sevier, American Patriot, was the son of Valentine and Joanna Goad Sevier. Robert married Keziah Robertson and they had children: Charles Robertson Sevier and Valentine Sevier. Capt. Robert Sevier was mortally wounded at the Battle of Kings Mountain. He died 9 days after the battle from wounds while on his way home. His grave is located a few miles from Spruce Pine, NC, about 50 miles NE of Ashville in Bright's Cemetery, Avery County, NC.
