Ronnie R. Sanders, age 62 of Mt. Vernon, passed away 6:13 p.m. Monday, May 5 , 2014 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Ronnie was born December 25, 1951 in Centralia, Illinois, a son of Kermit and Nadine (Peters) Sanders. He married Beverly (Lawler) on December 6, 1983 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and she survives in Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Sanders was a member of the Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon. He was a house painter for Larry Jones Painting.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Beverly Lawler-Sanders of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Carl Sanders and wife Susan, and Butch Sanders; one sister, Ruth Brooks; father-in-law, Melvin Lawler and wife Martha; mother-in-law, Joann Cascio; brothers-in-law, Alan Lawler and wife Lorin and Mitchell Cascio; and a sister-in-law, Marie Jo Hastings and husband David.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Nadine (Peters) Sanders; sister, Joan Blanks and Nancy Covington; brother, Larry Sanders; and two nephews, Larry Richard "Dickie" Blanks and Dennis Blanks.
Funeral Services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Michael Sheets officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside Committal service will be held 1 p.m. Friday May 9, 2014 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville.
