Marcella Ann (Davis) Fiorina-Dixon, 78, of Greenville, formerly of Leechburg, passed away suddenly Friday, March 7, 2014, in UPMC Shadyside, surrounded by her loving family. Marcella was born in Irwin, July 9, 1935, to the late Wilber and Clara Wahler Davis, who died in 1955 and 1965, respectively. For the past 40 years, she resided in Greenville. She recently moved back to Leechburg, always considering it her home. Marcella was a 1953 graduate of Leechburg High School and participated in the marching band as a majorette. She also was a majorette with the Leechburg Volunteer Firemen's Band in the 1950s. She loved life and was involved in many activities with her church, St. Michael Parish, Greenville. She was a member of the bowling league, Young at Heart and a church greeter. Marcella was an active member of the Northwest Democratic Alliance and precinct poll worker, also a past member of the Stony Point Grange and The Red Hats Society. Marcella was formerly employed at Schenley Distilleries on the bottling line and P.S. Stern as a new product demonstrator. Mom was known fondly as "The Demo Lady" in and around the Greenville area. She loved going on bus trips to area casinos, including Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Canada. A highlight of her life was to experience a trip to Paris and the Normandy region in France with her daughter, Denise. She delighted in visiting all the cathedrals and the famous French pastries and wines. Marcella was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a passionate Pittsburgh Penguins fan. She loved the summertime, especially the sunshine, tending her flowers and watching fireworks from her pontoon boat. Marcella is survived by her loving children; daughters, Denise (Alan) Fiorina Brzezinski, of Vandergrift, and Marci (Phil) Dixon King, of Farmdale, Ohio, and her three sons, James Fiorina and John Fiorina (fiancee, Araminta "Mindy" Landis), of Leechburg, and Matthew (Kristin Voss) Dixon, of Scott Township; and three granddaughters and a grandson, Tiffany (Jonathan) Brzezinski Nix, of Allegheny Township, Kristin (Gary) Brzezinski Wolverton, of Hyde Park, Chloe Dixon and Zachary Dixon, of Scott Township. She was the great-grandmother (GiGi) to Cameron Wolverton, Cole Nix and Avery Nix. Marcella is also survived by a sister, Patricia Pastva, of Leechburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, preceding her in death were a brother, Wilbur C. Davis, in 1990; a sister, Sarah (Sally) Wareham, in 2012; and her cat, Boots, her constant companion. She was also preceded in death by her former husbands, Reno John Fiorina, in 2013, and Alfred Dixon, in 2008. Marcella will be missed by all who knew her. Friends welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at CLAWSON FUNERAL and CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, (724-842-1051), where parting prayers of transfer will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Christian funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township with the Rev. James H. Loew, OSB, as celebrant. Interment following in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township. To send an online condolence to the Dixon family, please visit http://www.clawsonfuneralhome.com.
